Welcome to the journey. It’s not a new normal, it’s an entirely new world since the death of my son, Clayton, on March 8, 2025. The future is a dark night and each day is merely a struggle for meaning. One thing I have done is to get out, travel and experience things again and for the first time. Clayton was my travel buddy, so as I have said, it’s ALL a new world. I hope to share pics and describe these travels with you.
Another thing I have done is to look back- to the time and place and person I was before marriage, fatherhood, divorce and grief. Who was I? What was God doing in and through me then? I have dug up old Poetry and other writings that I hope to transfer here for your enjoyment (and criticism- it’s okay).
Finally, I hope to stir my hope and optimism again into a blog. I will be writing about all sorts of things from history, economics, theology and who knows what, but it will reflect a journey of healing and recovery, hopefully, and finally we will reach the destination together: to make it make sense.
Thanks for coming along,
R. L. “Rob” Rowland, (Railroadthewriter)
